Advising ServicesTo deliver effective multicultural advising services, I need to be aware that diversity includes the intersections of many different identities (Patton, McEwen, Rendon & Howard-Hamilton, 2007). The interactions of these various identities will affect a students academic goals and challenges (see diagram below). As a result, I cannot tailor my advising services toward one specific cultural group but rather need to have a variety of services that can be tailored towards the specific needs of each student.
